3- Day Private Tour Exploring Chile
This 3 -Day Tour takes you to discover the Capital city Santiago, the impressive Andes Mountains in the Maipo Valley as well as Chile's coastline.
Day 1: Santiago (L)
The 1st day city tour in Santiago takes you to experience the highlights of the city, local sights, markets, main parks & gastronomy!
The first stop of the city tour is the Presidential palace La Moneda and the Constitución Square; places that hide stories through the years of the military coup in Chile. We cross over to the oldest street in Santiago (New York Street), and then walk through the commercial center until arriving in the main square: Plaza de Armas, where we give you a brief introduction to the history of Santiago and the importance of the place.
Our next visit takes us to the Local Fish Market - Central Market, to enjoy the traditional gastronomy, seafood & fish over lunch. After dining, we continue our adventure to the most traditional bar in Santiago: La Piojera, where we get to explore their specialty “earthquake”.
Next, we get to explore the main fruit and vegetable market: Tirso de Molina, after finishing our city tour in the downtown area we will go up the San Cristobal Hill where you can enjoy excellent views over the city.
Day 2: Andes Mountains - Maipo Valley & El Yeso Reserve with Wine Tour (S)
This Andes day trip is a panoramic tour by vehicle to enjoy the scenic beauty of Maipo Valley and El Yeso Lagoon, taking us to appreciate the Andes Mountains (up to 2500 m/8000 ft), its valley, viewpoints and cascades.
We start our drive towards South-East Santiago and the Andes mountain range (2 hours- 100 km /62 miles). We cross the Maipo Valley offering us great views over the Andes foothills and the Maipo River, accompanied by Chilean and Andes (Folklore) Music playing during our drive.
In Embalse el Yeso, we will go on a small walk (2 km/ 1.3 miles approx.) bordering the lagoon to take in the landscape and obtain great photographs. Having a slight of luck we get to observe condors, eagles and wild foxes. After our walk, we will enjoy a nice picnic in the outdoors accompanied by wines. On our return journey, we will have stops at beautiful viewpoints, before heading back to Santiago.
Day 3: Chile's coast: Concon, Viña del Mar and Valparaiso (L)
We begin our journey toards Chile´s coastline with first stop at the Concón Sand Dunes, where we see a panoramic viewpoint over the three most important cities of the region: Concón, Viña del Mar and Valparaiso.
We continue our tour, travelling along the coastline (25 Km / 15 Miles), starting from Concón towards Viña del Mar. We will visit Viña del Mar´s famous Flower Clock and the Viña del Mar casino. We will continue another 5 Km / 3 Miles until we arrive in Valparaíso, where we will enjoy a nice lunch at a typical seafood or other optional restaurant of the area.
After lunch, visit the main square: Plaza Sotomayor and the Valparaíso port. After, We will do a small walking tour to get better in touch with the culture, art, and the surrounds. This way being able to observe how the local people live, the commerce and some of the main viewpoints of the city.
We finish our day trip at the viewpoint: Mirador Paseo 21 de Mayo, find typical Chilean handicrafts and enjoy one of the best views over Valparaiso port.
